About Coach

Trey Burdette is the co-owner of Whitebelt Athletics with his wife, Mia. He has spent more than two decades coaching athletes and helping people improve their health, performance, and quality of life. He began coaching sports in 2001, earned his Master’s in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University in 2003, and completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Coaching Behaviors in 2009. From 2006–2017, Trey served as an instructor and professor of Coaching at Georgia Southern University, where he taught strength and conditioning and coaching-related courses. He began coaching CrossFit in 2013. Throughout his career, Trey has worked with everyone from beginners taking their first steps toward better health to high-level athletes pursuing peak performance. His coaching philosophy centers around the belief that long-term health is built on foundational habits like exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress management, and that pain, low function, and decline are not inevitable parts of aging. Outside the gym, Trey enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. He sees fitness as a tool that allows people to fully engage in the activities and relationships that matter most.
